Well, it’s a long article. The gist is that the UN is trying to assert it’s wishes over the law of sovereign nations, especially in the case of free speech. Interesting that Christianity, because it calls aberrant behavior unpleasing to God, is considered by many as “hate speech”, while injunctions in the Koran to kill, enslave or maim non-Muslims is protected from anyone who tries to speak against it, as if being against killing in the name of your god is hate speech. If we were to extrapolate that, then we wouldn’t be able to say anything against people who kill unborn children, because that would be hate speech. Oh, wait, we’re already there, aren’t we? Seeing how far our First Amendment rights have already been pushed, it won’t take much more pushing by the UN for freedom of speech to slide right over the slippery slope.
Hmmm. The U.N. The UN. That fit’s Whatever your soveriegn rights are, they are being UNdone.
Under the guise of advancing what the United Nations refers to as “human rights,” the dictator-dominated global body is waging a full-blown assault on free-speech rights by pressuring governments to criminalize so-called “hate speech.” Indeed, working alongside radical government-funded activist groups and anti-liberty politicians around the world, the UN and other totalitarian-minded forces have now reached the point where they openly claim that what they call “international law” actually requires governments to ban speech and organizations they disapprove of. Critics, though, are fighting back in an effort to protect freedom of speech — among the most fundamental of all real rights.
